The tattoo tag.

tumblr image not my own.
Did it hurt?
What does it mean?
Want to see mine?
How much did it cost?
Do you think you'll regret any?
Will they affect your job?
What about when you're old?
Do your parents agree with them?

I've decided to do a post about my tattoos and I'm not sure why. I think its because when I was at work yesterday I had a great conversation about how funny some peoples questions are when they see our tattoos. I realised I've never actually posted about my tattoos, apart from the odd photo on instagram, so I thought it might be a good time to.

I am going to start from first to last, so here is the first tattoo I had done:

FEATHERS

Hardest thing to photography I apolgise.

Pain scale:
I remember being shocked at how well I handled it first time. It felt like someone was scratching at a burn and my head was vibrating a lot, 3/10 and took 45 minutes.

What does it mean?
Absolutely nothing, I liked feathers so I got some feathers.

How much did it cost and where did you have it done?
£70 as I knew the tattooist, Cobra tattoos.

Do you still like it?
This is the only tattoo I am going to have reworked, I had it done in grey as it was my first tattoo and I didn't want it to be too flamboyant. However, now I want it in colour.

ROSE

Pain scale?
This hurt a lot, especially for a second tattoo. I remember being in pain for the final hour, especially around the ribs during shading. 9/10 and took 2 & a half hours.

What does it mean?
Nothing, really liked the artwork.

How much did it cost and where did you have it done?
Around £200, but once again I knew the tattooist, Cobra tattoos.

Do you still like it?
Yes, but I would never touch my ribs again because of the pain haha.

QUOTE

Pain scale?
This was quite sensitive but I sat through it easily, 4/10 and took 40 minutes.

What does it mean?
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Which is my favourite quote from my favourite play Romeo & Juliet. I purposely had it done in arabic for 2 reasons, firstly so people wouldn't stare at my leg trying to read the english font and secondly because I find arabic beautiful.

How much did it cost and where did you have it done?
£80, Frith Street tattoos, Soho.

Do you still like it?
Love it!

MANDALA

Pain scale?
This tattoo was similar to my thigh, sensitive around the elbow but 4/10 overall and took 45 minutes.

What does it mean?
Nothing, I just love mandala designs.

How much did it cost and where did you have it done?
£80, Cobra tattoos.

Do you still like it?
Love it!

LOVE LETTER

Pain scale?
This was my second colour tattoo and I must be a sucker at shading because I find outlines so much easier to sit through, it was very sensitive around the bottom of my wrist. 5/10 and took 2 hours.

What does it mean?
I class myself as a hopeless romantic so I really wanted a love letter to express that. Keely the artist added the cutest bee ever and the line "bee mine" so then I fell in love with her idea.

How much did it cost and where did you have it done?
Around £250-£280 (cannot remember) and it was at Jolie Rouge, London by Keely Rutherford.

Do you still like it?
Yes its adorable.

-----------------------------------

Will you be getting anymore & when will you stop?
Yes I plan to get magpies tattooed around my love letter and I also want a fox tattooed somewhere at some point. I have a lot of places I wouldn't tattoo so there will be a stopping point.

Is there anywhere you'd never tattoo?
Yes I would never tattoo my face, neck, chest, stomach, hands, calves or feet.

Will they effect your job?
No, I don't think tattoos will effect a career if you are good at that job. My tattoos don't effect who I am, the ink doesn't infect my brain and I'm sure my hard work would be the only thing employers would notice.

What about when you're old?
I will just be a wrinklier version of myself.

Do your parents agree with them?
My mum was a little worried at first but she just wants me happy and I am. My dad is covered so of course he doesn't mind.

Well thats all my tattoos, hope you've enjoyed reading about them!
